Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, and for as many years as we have seen evil. Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!  Psalm 90:14-17 (ESV)

The Psalms are filled with raw, honest reactions to life's difficulties. Balanced with bold questioning of God and requests for rescue, however, are reverent acknowledgments of His goodness and the rightness of His ways, even when we don't understand them.

In this passage, the Psalmist recognizes that God is the one who not only numbers but directs our days and that He alone has the power to bless and multiply our efforts. Even in the midst of difficult times, when we cannot see the purpose of our struggles, God is still good, worthy of our praise, and ready to reveal His power to His children. Let this be an encouragement to your soul today.
