A Wonderful Gift And Calling
It is our privilege to welcome Wesley Humble to Liberty HealthShare and to our Human Interest blog series! Wes was recently hired as the Executive Director of Ministry and Community Relations. This position is new for our organization, and we are excited to see how God uses Wes to continue to help our employees and greater member community grow in grace. Even in the few weeks since he was brought on, he has gained a reputation as an honest and compassionate encourager with a pastor's heart.
Front Lines Of Member Care
As part of our Human Interest series on Liberty HealthShare staff members, we interviewed Leslie Brunk (pictured with her son), the supervisor of our Member Services department. She and her team function as the front line of Liberty's member care. Members call with questions about anything from the Sharing Guidelines to doctor appointments and talk to someone under Leslie's direction. Many members speak with Leslie when their complex medical circumstances require her hands-on guidance and expertise.
A Focus On Compassion And Care
In an ongoing effort to give our members a little bit of an inside look at the people who make up Liberty HealthShare, today we continue our occasional series of "human interest" stories. We hope this helps you feel a bit more connected to us and the heartbeat of the work we do each day. Each member of our staff is grateful for the opportunity to serve you in their individual capacities. Tim DeWees is Liberty's Chief Technology Officer in the Information Technology department. We recently asked him to tell us about his work, motivation, and interests, and he graciously took the time to answer.
An Opportunity To Help People
Some Liberty HealthShare members interact with our staff on a regular basis, but some members have never submitted a bill or had any specific need that necessitates a phone conversation. If you're in the latter group, you may understandably feel a bit disconnected from us. You might even wonder whether we function like other larger organizations, where you are routed through automated attendants and multiple menus before you can even reach another human being.
Congratulations To HealthShare Radio Host, John Daly
We are proud to announce that our friend, John Daly, has been named to the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. John has been a long-time Liberty HealthShare member and advocate, spreading the healthcare sharing concept throughout various media outlets. He has traveled near and far to interview members, broadcast live from various events, and record countless radio shows with Executive Director Dale Bellis. Great job, John, and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
Meet Health & Wellness
Our Health and Wellness Department is here to serve members when they become ill or suffer an injury. They also counsel potential members when a pre-existing and/or lifestyle-related condition is a concern. Finally, they work with our HealthTrac members, following progress and confirming graduation.
Meet Member Services
We thought you might enjoy meeting (via video) some of the people who respond when you call or e-mail us with a question or issue regarding your membership. Remember, we are not an insurance company. We are different not only in how we share medical costs but also in how we serve our members, and we hope you have experienced and noticed that difference! Watch the video and learn first-hand how determined our Member Services department is to solve problems, answer questions, and assist you in getting the care you need. Together, we are changing healthcare - for good!
Conscience And Common Sense
A Member (and Employee) Testimonial Hi. I'm Christen Varley, Public Affairs Specialist for Liberty HealthShare. When people ask me what it is I do every day, I tell them I'm the luckiest person working here. I spend most of my days talking to people all over our country about healthcare sharing with Liberty HealthShare! I get to speak with clergy, lay people, business owners, journalists, potential members, activists, attorneys, policy analysts, and sometimes even elected officials. I explain what healthcare sharing is, how it came into being, and how Liberty Health Share is helping people all over the country pay for medical costs in a community that cares about maintaining good health and pitching in to help others in times of need. My favorite part of any conversation, though, is telling them why I chose healthcare sharing for my own family.
